Beyoncé Giselle Knowles
Beyonce Giselle Knowles was conceived in
Houston, Texas on September 4 in 1981. Her mom, Tina Knowles-Lawson is the
designer of their glittering costumes, and her dad Mathew Knowles, manages
Destiny's Child. Solange her sister (4 years separated by four years) has
released her debut album. She performs with her sister at DC-3 concerts.
Beyonce is of Louisiana Creole & African descent. Whitney Houston found
her and her band. One of her favorites is "Lovefool" by The
Cardigans. The item she wears most often is a pair of metallic work boots. She
writes & produces many of the group's tunes, including smash hits
"Jumpin Jumpin", "Bootylicious", "Nasty Girl",
"Independent Women", "Happy Face" and "Apple Pie a la
Mode". The lead singer of the group Destiny's Child. As an opening act,
she was on tour together with Christina Aguilera (2000). TLC was their opening
performance (1999). Cat named Master P Attended the High School for the
Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas. Solange is Nixon and Koi Knowles
their older half-sister. Star Search (1983) - One time made an appearance. In
2001 she became the first African-American woman to ever get the ASCAP Pop
Songwriter of the Year Award. She is a huge fan and admirer of Middle Eastern
music. Her most famous hit is her song "Crazy in Love" that she
released in 2003. Her appearances on awards shows include the Radio Music
Awards, MTV Europe Video Music Awards, and Billboard Awards. She was also a
performer at a South African AIDS benefit event which Bono from U2 hosted in
November 2003 in order to combat the AIDS epidemic. On February 8, 2004 she was
awarded five Grammy Awards, including Best Contemporary R&B album for
"Dangerously in Love". She was also awarded the highest number of
prizes at this year's (2004) concert. Her father, Mathew, is of African
American descent. Tina is of Louisiana Creole descent. Her ancestors include
African as well as French and include ancestors from Louisiana as well as
Canada. Beyonce is also 1/32 Irish and her maternal line is a distant Breton-,
Spanish-, Indonesian-, and Chinese roots. According to some, she invented a
stage name called "Sasha" to conquer her shyness.
