Summer Bishil Bio

 Summer Bishil was raised in Pasadena (California). Her family and she moved overseas when she was three. Summer was a student at American as well as British schools in the midst of her family living in the United States. She returned to Pasadena just prior to her birthday, which was on 14th September. Attracted by the idea of being an actor since the age of five, Summer took her first acting class at the age 14. Nine months later, she was signed by an agent and a manager , and started to pursue her goal full-time. She is currently pursuing her degree at the college level in her free time. Was among the young celebrities that were featured in Vanity Fair's cover story, "Hollywood's New Wave: The Hottest Kids in Hollywood" in August 2008.Was selected as one of the "Ten Actors to Watch" by Variety (2007).Nominee for Best Actress - Spirit Award. Bishil began taking acting lessons when she was 14. Within a year she was signed with an agency and manager. Bishil was initially seen in the Nickelodeon television series Just for Kicks. She then appeared in several other children's shows. In 2007, she was the lead in Alan Ball’s film Towelhead the film adaptation of his novel. Slate critic Dana Stevens said, "Her performance is the truest thing in a film which, with all its great intentions, seems completely fake and somewhat embarrassing, as an extended PSA about inappropriate touching." Bob Strauss writes for many Los Angeles newspapers and states that Bishil "...is the best natural actresses in film of all time. In a September 12 Los Angeles Times review, Gary Goldstein stated that Summer Bishil is the "...newcomer who is a newcomer, delivers an intense and thrilling performance as Jasira. She filmed Wayne Kramer's Crossing Over project in 2009 and starred Harrison Ford and Ray Liotta. Jay Reiner of the Associated Press liked her portrayal. She was picked to play Azula in M. Night Shyamalan’s 2010 film The Last Airbender. This was the main theme of the planned but never released sequel.
