Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation born October 1st, 1969) is an American actor, comedian, musician, and writer. He has also appeared on Comedy Central Presents and hosted Late World With Zach on VH1. Galifianakis has been featured in movies such as The Hangover trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010) and The Campaign (2012). He also appeared in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014) as well as Masterminds (2016). Galifianakis has voiced characters for animated films like Puss In Boots (2011) and The Lego Batman Movie (2017). He has also voiced Missing Link (2019) and Ron's Gone wrong (2211). Galifianakis is currently hosting the Funny or Die website talk show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. Galifianakis starred in the FX series Baskets. He was nominated in 2017 for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on the 1st October 1969. The son of community arts center owner Mary Frances (nee Cashion) and heating oil merchant Harry Galifianakis. His mother is Scottish-Irish and English descent, while his paternal grandparents are Greek immigrants from Crete. His father was an Greek Orthodox Christian and he was born. He is the father of Merritt and a younger sister, and Greg, an older brother. The cousin of his is Washington Post cartoonist Nick Galifianakis, while his uncle, also named Nick Galifianakis, is a politician. Galifianakis attended Wilkes Central High School, and subsequently attended North Carolina State University, where he was a communications major. Galifianakis worked for a public radio station while in college. He taught the waltz in 1991, when he was introduced to Mary J. Blige. Galifianakis was a Saturday Night Live host for two weeks after his TV debut at Boston Common. According to him, he stated that he was a Saturday Night Live host for two weeks. Britney was my host the week before. I wrote a sketch. Will Ferrell was to play a bodyguard to her belly button and we planned to shrink Will down so that she could fit in a belly button. After I explained it to them, she looked at me. She finally said it, "Yeah that is funny." Galifianakis was co-starring in the movie Out Cold, and had small role in Corky Romano, Below, Bubble Boy, Heartbreakers, Into the Wild, Super High Me, Little Fish Strange Pond and Largo.
