Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields, born May 31, 1965, is an American actress. At the age of 12, she was a child model. She earned critical acclaim for her performance in Louis Malle's 1978 film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling throughout her teens and was a part of numerous dramas during the 1980s, such as The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli’s Endless Love (1981). In 1983 Shields ended her modeling career to attend Princeton University where she received a bachelor's degree in Romance Languages. Shields played minor roles in films and returned to acting in the 1990s. She also appeared in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-2000), which earned her two Golden Globe nominations, and Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009). Shields was back on NBC in 2017 to reprise her role as a key role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unified's 19th season. From 2014, Shields has voiced Beverly Goodman in the Adult Swim animated series Mr. Pickles and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was a Manhattan, New York, native , born on May 31 of 1965. She is the daughter of Teri Shields, actress and model, as well as Frank Shields, a businessman (1941-2003). According to the work of William Addams-Reitwiesner, Shields is related to several noble families from Italy specifically from Genoa and Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia di Civitella Cisi di Civitella Cisi was an Italian noblewoman, and daughter of the American prince, was Teri's paternal grandmother. Her great-uncle, Alessandro Torlonia, an Italian nobleman was the father of Infanta Beatriz who was born in Spain. Teri was paid the sum of money by Frank's family to stop the pregnancy.
